This game was hyped up a little for me and I think it fell short. Shadow at the Water's Edge is the 23rd installment in the Nancy Drew point-and-click adventure game series by Her Interactive. A must-buy to complete a Nancy Drew collection, however, there are better ones.
If you want a puzzle-heavy game with great characters, I think you will be pretty happy with your purchase. To sum it up, if you are looking for a story driven Nancy Drew game, you have come to the wrong place. And that's usually the best part of the game. And the unveiling of the true villian was extremely anti-climatic and boring. I would have loved for Nancy Drew to find fake journal entries written by the Pharaoh and Nefetari similar to what was found in Shadow Ranch or Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon. And seeing as most of the storyline comes from them, I was disappointed. Basically, another puzzle intensive game.
It seems like the majority of the game was spent solving senseless puzzles and decoding hieroglyphics. However, fans of the Nancy Drew series may be disappointed with this one.
